چکیده
Skeletal muscle is the most abundant tissue in adult body and plays an essential role maintaining heat production for entire body. Recently, muscle-derived non-shivering thermogenesis under cold conditions has received much attention. Zinc-α2-glycoprotein (ZAG) adipokine that was shown to influence energy metabolism adipose tissue. We used ZAG knock-out (ZAG KO) wild-type (WT) mice investigate effect of on lipid skeletal upon exposure a low temperature (6°C) one week. The results show stress significantly increases level lipolysis, metabolism, fat browning-related proteins gastrocnemius WT mice. In contrast, KO did not any corresponding changes. Increased expression β3-adrenoceptor (β3-AR) protein kinase A (PKA) might be involved pathway exposed stress. Furthermore, lipolysis-related (ATGL p-HSL) metabolism-related (PGC1α, UCP2, UCP3 COX1) enhanced after injection ZAG-recombinant plasmids. These indicate promotes lipid-related when animals are temperatures. This finding provides promising target development new therapeutic approaches improve metabolism.

Skeletal muscle lipid metabolism with obesity.
The objectives of this study were to 1). examine skeletal muscle fatty acid oxidation in individuals with varying degrees of adiposity and 2). determine the relationship between skeletal muscle fatty acid oxidation and the accumulation of long-chain fatty acyl-CoAs. Muscle was obtained from normal-weight [n = 8; body mass index (BMI) 23.8 +/- 0.58 kg/m(2)], overweight/obese (n = 8; BMI 30.2 +/-...
متن کاملZinc-α2-Glycoprotein Is Associated with Obesity in Chinese People and HFD-Induced Obese Mice
Zinc-α2-glycoprotein (ZAG) plays an important role in the regulation of body weight, body fat, and glucose metabolism. In this study, we first measured ZAG levels in serum and ZAG mRNA levels in subcutaneous white adipose tissue (sWAT) among overweight/obese patients and lean control subjects. Second, we investigated the effects of ZAG administration on the body weight, body fat and glucose met...
متن کاملEffects of epinephrine on lipid metabolism in resting skeletal muscle.
The effects of physiological (0, 0.1, 2.5, and 10 nM) and pharmacological (200 nM) epinephrine concentrations on resting skeletal muscle lipid metabolism were investigated with the use of incubated rat epitrochlearis (EPT), flexor digitorum brevis (FDB), and soleus (SOL) muscles. Muscles were chosen to reflect a range of oxidative capacities: SOL > EPT > FDB. The muscles were pulsed with [1-14C...

Lipids as fuel for energy provision originate from different sources: albumin-bound long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) in the blood plasma, circulating very-low-density lipoproteins-triacylglycerols (VLDL-TG), fatty acids from triacylglycerol located in the muscle cell (IMTG), and possibly fatty acids liberated from adipose tissue adhering to the muscle cells. The regulation of utilization of the di...
متن کاملDownregulation of fetuin-B and zinc-α2-glycoprotein is linked to impaired fatty acid metabolism in liver cells.
BACKGROUND Our recent proteomic study has shown that plasma protein levels of fetuin-B (Ft-B) and zinc-α2-glycoprotein (ZAG) are significantly elevated in obesity-resistant (OR) rats exposed to a high fat diet. Time profiling of the plasma concentrations of Ft-B and ZAG in OR rats has shown stable regulation of these proteins throughout the entire period of rat breeding. METHODS To firmly est...
